Flash is an Anki alternative built for one thing Anki can't do: studying with your AI. Upload an .apkg and every card comes across intact, keeps the FSRS scheduling you're used to, and becomes something Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok can quiz you on out loud.
What survives the trip
Cloze deletions
Every {{c1::…}} becomes a proper blank, hints included. Multi-cloze notes become one card per cloze, just like Anki.
Images & audio
Pictures show inline; audio gets a player. Your media is stored with your account, not left behind in a folder.
LaTeX & typed answers
Math renders. “Type in the answer” cards keep their typed input and show you a character-by-character diff.
Nested decks
Anatomy::Cardiac::Conduction arrives as nested decks. Import the whole collection or one subdeck.
Formatting
Bold, lists, colors, and your note's HTML come through — and every card comes out wearing Flash's clean look.
Export back
Everything exports as an Anki .apkg or CSV at any time, on any plan. No lock-in in either direction.
How to import
1. Export from Anki
In Anki: File → Export, format Anki Deck Package (.apkg), with “Include media” checked. Pick one deck or all of them.
2. Upload to Flash
Sign in, open Decks → Import, and drop the file in. You get a preview — card count, deck tree, a sample of rendered cards — before anything is committed.
3. Study — on the web or by voice
Your cards are due on the same FSRS schedule. Review them in the browser, or connect Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok and have your AI ask the questions and grade your answers.
Big collection? That's fine.
The free plan covers your first 1,000 cards. If an import pushes you past that, the whole deck is still allowed with a one-time 30-day grace period, so you can try Flash with your real collection before deciding. Studying, reviewing, and export are never blocked. Pricing details.
